PAT on the back for outstanding teachers

For their outstanding teaching and dedication to their students, six teachers received the President's Award for Teachers (PAT) from President Tony Tan Keng Yam at the Istana yesterday.

They are: Mr Anil Vasudevan of Marsiling Secondary School, Ms O Guat Bee of Temasek Primary School, Mrs Lyvenne Chong of Spectra Secondary School, Madam Michele Tang of Catholic High School (Secondary), Madam Juliana Johari of Qihua Primary School and Mr Tharmendra Jeyaraman of Siglap Secondary School.

The winners were picked by a panel chaired by Ms Denise Phua, head of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Education, from a pool of 2,557 teachers.
