SINGAPORE - A driver crashed his car into a lamp post in Guillemard Road on Saturday (March 3), toppling the structure and sending metal debris in the air.

In a dramatic dashboard camera footage of the accident, which was posted on Facebook on Sunday, the black car is seen travelling along a slight bend on the road when the driver loses control of the vehicle.

The car crashes head first into a lamp post on the central divider, and the impact sends the lamp post tumbling to the ground and metal debris flying in the air.

There was serious damage to the bumper of the car, which also had smoke coming from it.

Since it was shared online, the video has received more than 3,148 shares within two hours.

In response to queries, the police said it was alerted to an accident involving a car in Guillemard Road towards Nicoll Highway at about 5.30pm.

No injuries were reported and police investigations are ongoing.
