Giving back to society is serious business at eco-friendly packaging company Greenpac. It appraises its 45 employees on their participation in volunteer work.
One instance is how they nurtured a culture of food self-sufficiency by teaching students and residents near its Boon Lay office how to grow hydroponic vegetables.
Greenpac founder Susan Chong says volunteerism has helped to promote team bonding and retain staff. "Millennials want purpose-driven jobs.
They know that working here allows them to green the environment and do charity work," she said.
