A young doctor who had yet to get his full registration worked illegally as a locum in a clinic to earn extra money so that he could visit his former girlfriend in Canada and get back together with her.

Dr Joel Arun Sursas admitted to earning $13,000 by moonlighting as a locum on 47 occasions between July and December 2015.
