Site investigation works have begun for the Cross Island MRT line at the Central Catchment Nature Reserve after a two-month delay. Soil and rock samples are being extracted from 16 sites around the nature reserve - Singapore's largest - as part of efforts to help determine whether the 50km rail line, which is expected to be completed in 2030, will go under the reserve or around it.
