Dengue infections cross 9,000-mark

Dengue infections have crossed the 9,000 mark.

Latest Health Ministry figures show 656 infections from last Sunday to Friday afternoon, bringing the total number of cases this year to 9,139.

The biggest dengue clusters remain in Tampines and on the eastern part of the island.

A dengue cluster is formed when two or more dengue cases occur within two weeks and the victims' homes are within 150m.

Yishun, Boon Lay, Choa Chu Kang, King's Close, Westwood, Serangoon North, and the Race Course Road area, were among some places on the National Environment Agency's list of high-risk areas, with 10 or more cases.
