Decapitated Woman Case: Husband on Interpol Wanted List

Indian national Harvinder Singh, the husband of a beautician whose decapitated body was found in Whampoa River on Dec 12, is now on the wanted list of Interpol.

The 34-year-old, said to be from Kurukshetra located in Haryana state of India, had left Singapore through the Woodlands checkpoint about half an hour before his wife's body was discovered.

Officers from the Singapore Police Force are looking for him to help in their investigations into the death of his wife, Madam Jasvinder Kaur, 33.

Forklift driver Gursharan Singh, 25, has since been charged with Madam Kaur's murder and remanded for psychiatric assessment. He is accused of killing her with an unknown man at a shophouse in Balestier Road sometime between Dec 10 at about 10pm and 7.33am on Dec 12. The case will be mentioned in court again on Jan 17 but if convicted of murder, he faces the death penalty.

The Indian national, who was on a Special Pass, was arrested by the police at his workplace in Sims Avenue six days after a trash bag containing Ms Kaur's body was spotted floating in the waterway between McNair Road and St George's Road. Her head and hands are still missing, and her arms had apparently been mutilated.

Ms Kaur came to Singapore from India in September on a dependant's pass. Her husband had arrived earlier in February and was working here as a senior logistics coordinator.
