SINGAPORE - Pop art colours, a celebration of professionals in different jobs and a pyrotechnic display of five stars and a crescent moon will light up this year's show segment of the National Day Parade.

For the first time, two dancing fountains that can reach a height of 10m have been installed at Marina Bay and the stage has been set for the largest multimedia display in the NDP's history.

Although there is no new NDP song, local singers who have made their name through the years will join with new faces in a mash-up of National Day songs from past years. Stories of ordinary Singaporeans overcoming challenges also feature in the four acts, which involve a total of 3,000 student and adult performers and 1,000 volunteers.

"It will be an eye-popping, captivating and heartwarming show... which we hope will not only wow your senses but capture your heart," said chairman of the NDP Show Committee Colonel David Neo, at a media briefing on Tuesday.
