One would not have to travel too far for a taste of New Zealand this week, but some cycling might be required for a fresh cup of kiwi fruit juice. A bounty of treats from over 20 New Zealand brands is available for purchase at the Cold Storage Taste New Zealand fair at the Plaza Singapura Atrium, on till Sunday. Patrons who buy kiwi fruit can have a go on the Zespri Kiwifruit bicycle, a real crowd-stopper. The bike powers the juicer to make one's own health drink. According to Cold Storage chief executive officer David Goh, 50 per cent of New Zealand's exports to Singapore are food and beverages, and the country is recognised "as a leader in safe, clean and traceable food production". With him above are (from left) Ms Hayley Horan, trade commissioner of New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, and Ms Laura Grey, Acting High Commissioner of New Zealand High Commission Singapore.
