SINGAPORE - A 54-year-old woman was arrested on Friday for cheating victims out of $138,000 by promising attractive exchange rates for foreign currency.
Some victims were also offered investment plans with very high returns. Police said in a statement that the suspect did not deliver on the promises and no money or returns were received by the victims.
Following the reports, officers from Bedok Division established the identity of the suspect then tracked her down and arrested her on Friday.
She will appear in court on Saturday.
