SINGAPORE - A 29-year-old woman was arrested on Monday (May 9) for breaking into a house on Li Hwan Close, and stealing cash and jewellery worth about $9,000.
Police investigations showed that she had entered the unit near Lorong Chuan through its unsecured gate. They arrested her at Jalan Tanjong in Tanah Merah at about 8.30pm, 3½ hours after the victim, a 44-year-old man, reported the theft.
She will be charged on Wednesday.
In an advisory on Tuesday, the police reminded property owners to lock up their homes properly. They are also encouraged to install alarms, motion sensors and/or closed circuit surveillance cameras.
