Three teenagers arrested for committing mischief by fire in Jurong West

Three teenagers have been arrested after allegedly setting fire to clothes in the corridors of their estate.

One boy and two girls aged between 13 and 15 were arrested on Thursday and Friday on suspicion of committing mischief by fire in Jurong West.

Preliminary investigations found that the suspects had committed at least three such offences.

Police said in a statement that there had been"several reports" of fire last month, adding that officers from Jurong Police Division established the identities of the suspects "based on extensive enquiries". Investigations are ongoing.

Commander of Jurong Police Division, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police Wilson Lim, said police will not tolerate such blatant disregard for public safety and property damage. He stressed that the they will spare no effort to take such offenders to task.
