SINGAPORE - A 19-year-old was arrested on Saturday (May 26) for allegedly vandalising a police camera in Jurong West.
The police said in a statement on Sunday night that they were alerted that a sticker had been pasted on the lens of a police camera at Block 663D Jurong West Street 65 at about 11.20am.
Officers from the Jurong Police Division arrested the teenager within two hours through ground inquiries and the use of police camera images.
He was arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of vandalism, the statement said.
Investigations are ongoing.
If convicted of vandalism, he faces a maximum jail term of up to three years and a maximum fine of $2,000. He may also be punished with up to eight strokes of the cane.
