Teen arrested over snatch theft cases along West Coast Road

SINGAPORE - A teenage boy has been arrested for his suspected involvment in a snatch theft along West Coast Road on Dec 17.

The victim, a 75-year-old woman, was walking past the void deck of a residential block in the area when an unknown male suspect snatched her purse and fled.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested the next day in Jurong West. Preliminary investigations suggest that he could also have been involved in another snatch theft.

If found guilty, the teen faces up to seven years in jail and caning.
