Suspected serial housebreaker nabbed after thefts in Selegie Road

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 40-year-old man who is believed to have been involved in a series of housebreaking and theft cases in the vicinity of Selegie Road.

They received reports of cash going missing from residences in the area in early October. Some victims reported seeing a male suspect.

Officers from the Tanglin Police Division investigated and after reviewing CCTV footage they managed to establish the suspect's identity.

He was arrested in Boon Lay on Tuesday.

The suspect will be charged on Thursday with housebreaking and theft by night. The offence carries a maximum jail term of 14 years.
