SINGAPORE - About 130 people were arrested for various offences including illegal employment, unlawful assembly and drink driving in an overnight raid which started on Saturday night.
The raids were carried out in the Little India and Kampong Glam area and most of those arrested are believed to be involved in illegal employment.
The suspects, 48 men and 82 women, are aged between 18 and 73. Three illegal gambling dens were busted and four entertainment outlets were found to have breached their Public Entertainment Licenses, said police.
It is understood the entertainment outlets, which included KTVs lounges and discotheques, were illegally employing foreign hostesses - 76 of whom were arrested throughout the night.
