Police classify case of unnatural death at Geylang Lorong 23 as murder

SINGAPORE - The case of a 52-year-old man being found dead near a coffee shop in Geylang Lorong 23 on Saturday (July 9) has been classified as murder.
In a statement on Sunday (July 10), police said it was appealing for information on the whereabouts of 54-year-old Yeo Ai Leng to assist with investigations into the case.
Later in the evening, it confirmed that Yeo had been traced and was not a suspect.
The Sunday Times reported that the dead man had a deep cut from the left side of his ear to the top of his head, and a wooden stick was found nearby.
Chinese paper Shin Min Daily News said the dead man was a former helper at a zi char stall in a coffee shop near where his body was found.
