Ng Boon Gay verdict: Packed courtroom awaits verdict of corruption trial

Former Central Narcotics Bureau chief Ng Boon Gay sat in the dock Thursday afternoon in a packed courtroom at the Subordinate Courts awaiting the verdict on his corruption case.

His wife Madam Yap Yen Yen sat alongside Ng's brother and sister-in-law two rows behind him.

Outside the court room dozens of lawyers, reporters and member of the public waited eagerly for the findings of District Judge Siva Shanmugam.

Ng, 46, is on trial for obtaining oral sex from IT executive Ms Cecilia Sue, in exchange for business favours on four occasions in 2001. He can be jailed up to five years and fined up to $100,000 for each of his four charges.
