New access to State Courts and Family Justice Courts

From today, the public entrance to the State Courts Building will be in Upper Cross Street, where a new vehicle passenger pick-up and drop-off point has been set up.

Current access to the State Courts Building via the passenger pick-up and drop-off point outside the Family Justice Courts Building will no longer be available.

State Courts users and visitors walking to the State Courts Building from People's Park Centre and Chinatown MRT Station Exit D can use a new temporary sheltered walkway erected in Upper Cross Street.

Vehicular access to Havelock Square from Havelock Road and New Market Road has now been closed.

For users of the Family Justice Courts, a new passenger pick-up and drop-off point has been established next to the Family Justice Courts Building in New Market Road (opposite Furama City Centre hotel). Access to this new passenger pick-up/drop-off point is via Havelock Road.

There is no change to the pedestrian access route to the Family Justice Courts Building. The pedestrian access route to the building from Chinatown MRT Station Exit D, People's Park Centre and Havelock Road remains unchanged.

A State Courts spokesman said the new measures are meant to facilitate the ongoing construction works for the new State Courts Towers which are slated to be operational from 2020.
