SINGAPORE - A former financial adviser was jailed for 21 weeks on Thursday (April 14) for taking upskirt videos of his colleagues.

Ang Wen Jie, 34, was working in a bank in Shenton Way when he insulted the modesty of his colleagues between March 2014 and April last year.

He admitted to eight of 39 charges. The locations of the offences included the printer area of his office, escalators and staircases. All except two victims were his colleagues.

The court heard that on Sept 23 in 2014, a 32-year-old financial adviser was heading back to the office with Ang when he took an upskirt video of her while they were going up the escalator to the lift lobby at Level 2.

The youngest victim was a 22-year-old intern whose inner thighs, underwear and her buttocks were captured by Ang's iPhone 4 when she went to to print something on Dec 23 the same year.

In March last year, he bought a new iPhone 6, and transferred videos from the old phone to the new one before disposing of the iPhone 4.

A 30-year-old colleague, who was also a victim, made a police report at Marina Bay Neighbourhood Police Centre on April 7 last year. She said that she suspected Ang of having taken upskirt videos at their workplace.

Ang could have been jailed for up to one year and fined per charge.
