SINGAPORE - Police cordoned off part of a carpark and a forested area near a foreign workers' dormitory on Friday morning, after a worker from India was found dead there.
Mr Yeacopjoseph, 35, had been working as a general worker with CHC Construction for about six months and was staying at Kranji Lodge 1 along Kranji Road.
His body was found by other workers from the dormitory at around 6.30am on Friday morning, according to a supervisor from the firm whom the workers contacted.
The supervisor, who declined to be named, added that Mr Yeacopjoseph had not reported for work on Thursday.
Mr K Kumar, 31, told The Straits Times that Mr Yeacopjoseph's wife had tried calling him on Thursday evening but he had not picked up. Mr Kumar, a relative by marriage who is also working in Singapore, said he and other relatives in Singapore tried calling Mr Yeacopjoseph throughout the night to no avail.
On Friday morning, Mr Kumar was notified that Mr Yeacopjoseph had been found dead.
Police said they received a call at 7.08am. When they arrived they found a man motionless at the location. Paramedica pronounced him dead at the scene. Police added that they are investigating the unnatural death.
