SINGAPORE - A 38-year-old man was charged in court on Monday (Feb 12) with molesting a woman on board a bus last Saturday (Feb 10).
Clive Hilary Cheng Kiat Vaz is accused of touching the27-year-old woman on her right upper arm while they were travelling on SBS Transit service No 106 at Bukit Batok East Avenue 3 at about 5.50pm on Feb 10.
The woman approached the bus captain for help and Vaz was then detained and arrested, according to a police statement on Sunday (Feb 11).
The prosecution successfully applied for Vaz to be remanded at Jurong police division for a week as he is believed to be involved another, similar case.
If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to two years, fine, caning or any combined punishment.
His case will be mentioned on Feb 19.
