Man, 57, arrested for allegedly stealing lorry parked in Chinatown

Police have arrested a 57-year-old man suspected of stealing a lorry.

They received a report at 10.55am on Tuesday about a missing lorry that had been parked on Smith Street in Chinatown.

After reviewing CCTV footage and making ground enquiries, officers from the Central Police Division recovered the vehicle in Geylang on the same day.

The suspect was identified and arrested at Lengkok Bahru at 9.20pm on Thursday.

If convicted of motor vehicle theft, he faces a maximum punishment of seven years in jail and a fine.
