SINGAPORE - A 48-year-old man was arrested on Monday (March 12) for attempting to rob a woman in Tiong Bahru.
The police said in a statement on Tuesday that the 20-year-old woman lodged a report at about 11.15pm on Monday after the man attempted to rob her while she was studying in Beo Crescent.
Officers from the Tanglin Police Division were able to establish the man's identity through extensive ground inquiries and with the aid of closed-circuit television images.
He was arrested on Tuesday for his suspected involvement in the attempted robbery case.
If found guilty, the man faces a jail term of up to seven years and at least six strokes of the cane.
