Man, 25, arrested for rioting outside Orchard Towers

SINGAPORE - A 25-year-old man was arrested in relation to a case of rioting outside Orchard Towers near Claymore Road on Saturday (March 10).

The Straits Times understands that the man was part of a group of six friends.

Videos of their fight have been circulating online since Sunday, including one posted on Monday night showing a man in a dark, long-sleeved shirt picking up a bottle and throwing it at another man.

As vehicles start to move off, he then pushes a third man towards the side of an SBS Transit bus. The man is seen falling down in front of an oncoming car.

In another video posted on Sunday, two of them can be heard shouting at each other before exchanging punches.

The police told The Straits Times that they were alerted to a case of rioting in Orchard Road at about 9.30am.

A 25-year-old man was conscious when taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and he was subsequently arrested in relation to the case, they said.

Investigations are ongoing.
