SINGAPORE - An Indian national was charged on Wednesday with the murder of a fellow countryman in Pandan Loop.

Thiruppathi Veerapperumal, 26, is alleged to have caused the death of technician Murugaiya Suresh Kumar at Pandan Loop along an exit leading to West Coast Highway between 10.10pm and 10.33pm last Saturday.

The victim, also 26, was an employee of Poly NDT, which does testing and inspections of parts such as ship hulls. He had injuries to his head and neck.

He was found lying motionless on the ground by the police. Blood stains were reportedly splattered along the road, and also on the nearby fencing.

Veerapperumal told the court he did not commit the offence. He is remanded at Central police division lock-up for further investigation. His case will be mentioned on Sept 3.
