SINGAPORE - A 44-year-old man was charged on Friday with two counts of raping his Myanmar domestic worker in December 2013.
The accused, who is a Singapore permanent resident, is alleged to have raped the 35-year-old woman at about 1am and 7am on Dec 20, 2013.
He is out on bail of $70,000. His passport has been impounded.
The accused, who is married, is represented by Mr Shashi Nathan and Ms Tania Chin.
The case will be mentioned on April 17.
If convicted, he could be jailed for up to 20 years, fined and caned.
