When lawyer Edmund Wong learnt of his five-year suspension through text messages, he felt both relief at not being disbarred and, perhaps more so, remorse for subjecting a molestation victim to an offensive and embarrassing line of questioning.
The 60-year-old told The Straits Times (ST) he had expected the worst and was "very grateful" to the Court of Three Judges, which had considered whether he was fit to practise law.
