SINGAPORE - A 54-year-old man caught on video cycling recklessly in Geylang and causing a Traffic Police officer to skid and fall has been arrested for drug-related offences.
The accident took place at about 5.45pm on Wednesday (Feb 21) in Geylang Road towards Kallang Road before Lorong 4 Geylang.
In the video, the cyclist can be seen weaving between vehicles, and riding perpendicular to traffic, to get from the rightmost lane of the road to the left.
The accident happens just as he is about to get to the leftmost lane.
The Traffic Police officer is seen skidding in an apparent attempt to avoid crashing into the cyclist. The officer and the cyclist both fall, and both are seen getting up on their own shortly after.
A YouTube video of the incident was shared on SG Road Vigilante's public Facebook group. The recording was also shared on the Roads.sg Facebook group.
When contacted, the police said no injuries were reported.
Investigations are ongoing.
