50-year-old man arrested for vandalising police message board in Hougang Ave 3

SINGAPORE - A 50-year-old man believed to have damaged a police message board has been arrested.

On Oct 26 around 6.50pm, the police was informed that the message board at the lift lobby of a block in Hougang Avenue 3 was damaged.

Acting on the information received, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division responded to the case and confirmed that the acrylic police message board, which was used to display crime prevention advisories, had been damaged.

The officers conducted ground enquiries and, with the aid of CCTVs installed in the vicinity of the block, the suspect was arrested on Nov 5 for the offence of vandalism.

Investigations against the suspect are ongoing. If convicted, he may face a jail term of up to three years, or a fine, and caning, the police said.
