SINGAPORE - Five women and two men were arrested for immigration, employment and drug-related offences during a police operation at public entertainment outlets on Wednesday (March 7).
The suspects are aged between 20 and 50 years old, and were arrested at outlets in Jalan Sultan, North Bridge Road and Kampong Bahru Road, said police in a statement on Thursday.
The public entertainment outlet licensees were found to be employing foreigners without work permits, an offence under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act, added the statement.
Investigations are ongoing.
"The police will continue to take tough enforcement action against those who are involved in such illegal activities and they will be dealt with in accordance with the law," the statement added.
