32 people arrested for theft, gambling, offering sexual services in 3-day police operation

SINGAPORE - Thirty-two people have been arrested for a range of offences including theft, gambling and offering sexual services in a three-day police operation.

The 13 men and 19 women, aged between 30 and 67, were arrested in an operation over the weekend, the police said in a statement on Monday (Feb 12).

Of these, 14 women from China, India and Thailand were arrested for offering sexual services, after officers from the Central Police Division raided hotels and apartments along Jalan Sultan, Jalan Besar Road, Race Course Road, Mayo Street, Perak Road and Dunlop Street.

The women were on employment and short-term visit passes.

Another five women, along with 13 men, were arrested for gambling-related offences in Rangoon Road and Sago Lane.

The police seized cash amounting to $54,384, 11 computers and gambling paraphernalia.

Investigations are ongoing.
