SINGAPORE - Three men were arrested over missing marine fuel, the police said in a statement on Friday.

The superintendent, chief engineer and 3rd engineer of a Singapore-registered vessel are suspected of having misappropriated about 67 metric tonnes of marine fuel, worth about $57,000.

The Police Coast Guard received information about the missing fuel at 9.50am on Thursday. After boarding the vessel and conducting investigations, they found the fuel missing and seized cash amounting to 50,000 yuan (S$10,607), which is believed to be connected to the case.

In a separate case, the police nabbed a 33-year-old man suspected of being involved in a series of thefts of milk powder from supermarkets in the Redhill and Telok Blangah areas between September and November this year.
