3 men arrested for suspected involvement in robbery

SINGAPORE - Three men, aged between 35 and 41, were arrested on Tuesday (June 26) for their suspected involvement in a robbery in Hastings Road.

The Singapore Police Force said on Tuesday that it received a report that a man had been assaulted and robbed of his belongings at about 1am.

Preliminary investigations had shown that three men had allegedly assaulted the victim and robbed him of his gold chain and mobile phone.

Officers from the Central Police Division identified the three men after conducting ground inquiries, and arrested them in Ang Mo Kio Street 61 at about 5am on Tuesday.

The three suspects will be charged in court for robbery with hurt.

If convicted, the men could face a jail term of between five and 20 years, and at least 12 strokes of the cane.
