2 men suspected of robbing $394 from convenience store nabbed

SINGAPORE - Two men suspected of robbing a convenience store in Clementi have been arrested.

The suspects, aged 28 and 30, allegedly stole $394 in cash from the store at Block 109, Clementi West Street 11.

The crime was reported to the police on Wednesday (Sept 21) at about 3.45am.

A man told the police that the robber had entered the shop wearing a helmet and a ski mask.

He stole the cash from the cash register then fled.

Police identified one suspect and nabbed him at Bayshore Road on Friday at about 3pm.

The other suspect was arrested at Tanglin Halt Road at about 5pm. About $75 in cash and a ski mask were seized.

If convicted of robbery, they can be jailed from three to 14 years and caned at least 12 strokes.
