10 arrested in 17-hour joint enforcement operation

SINGAPORE - Ten people were arrested after police conducted a 17-hour joint enforcement operation on Tuesday (Jan 26).

Checks were carried out at public entertainment outlets and public housing estates in Sembawang, Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Serangoon and Punggol, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) announced in a press release on Thursday.

Seven men and one woman were arrested for drug-related offences. The remaining two suspects, both men, were arrested for offences under the Provisions of the Women's Charter.

The operation was led by the Ang Mo Kio Police Division and Central Narcotics Bureau Enforcement "F" Division, supported by officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force.

Investigations are ongoing, SPF said.
