Couple recognised for 55 years of marriage at World Marriage Day event at Ion Orchard

SINGAPORE - Feb 11 has been designated World Marriage Day by the Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME) movement.

This American movement is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and more than 300 people gathered outside Ion Orchard to participate in a flash mob on Sunday to mark the occasion.

Singaporeans Marlene De Silva, 76, and Penny D'Rozario, 80, were given a prize for being married the longest, 55 years, at the event.
