SOME chefs here will be partnering nursing homes in an effort to raise the quality of food served to patients.

The Partner A Nursing Home programme was launched this morning by the Agency for Integrated Care in partnership with the Singapore Chefs Association (SCA).

Under the year-long programme, each nursing home will be paired with a volunteer chef from the SCA who will provide consultation to the home and mentor its cooks in areas such as menu planning, food preparation and service.

This will help address some of the challenges the Society for the Aged Sick faces which include residents complaining of bland and repetitive dishes, said the society's nurse manager Ms Geraldine Lim, 44.
