Furniture chain Vhive shuts after 32 years, with new online retailer taking its place

SINGAPORE - When furniture retailer Vhive realised that it was losing business to online rivals, its management decided that they could not sit tight and hope for the best.

Instead, they closed the last of its stores last month, spelling an end to a decades-long run that started in the 1990s.
