Black soldier flies, with their innate ability to turn discarded food into nutrients for plants and animals, have found a central role in Singapore's transition towards a zero-waste nation.
While numerous black soldier fly farms have been popping up around the island, one farm has taken its food waste valorisation initiatives up a notch, by creating biomaterials for use in the medical tech, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
