SINGAPORE - Mr Edward Foong spends almost every weekend solemnising marriages. He unites 500 to 600 couples a year - and this is not even his "day job".

The 50-year-old grassroots leader, who works as a career adviser with Workforce Singapore, has been volunteering as a solemniser for the past seven years.
