Commander of Royal Brunei Land Force makes farewell visit to Singapore

SINGAPORE - The commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) called on Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen on Monday afternoon as part of his farewell visit to Singapore before stepping down.

Brigadier General (BG) Yussof Abdul Rahman, who is in Singapore from Monday to Tuesday, Nov 17 to 18, had earlier called on Chief of Defence Force, Lieutenant-General Ng Chee Meng and inspected a Guard-of-Honour contingent.

An official dinner will also be hosted for him by Chief of Army, Major-General Perry Lim, on Monday night.

"The visit by BG Dato Yussof underscores the close and long-standing defence relationship between Singapore and Brunei," said a Mindef spokesman.

"The Singapore Army and the RBLF interact regularly through annual bilateral exercises, cross-attendance of courses, as well as professional exchanges. These interactions not only enhance the professionalism of the two armies, but also strengthen mutual understanding and personal friendships."
