The Colour Run clearly lives up to its name as a participant gets splashed with green-coloured powder.

Around 9,000 people took part in yesterday's 5km run, which started in the afternoon on Sentosa Island. Another 9,000 participants are expected to turn up for today's event.

Dubbed "the happiest run in the world", this is the second time it has been held in Singapore.

The run has two rules: wear white; and be prepared to be showered in different colours - red, blue, orange and green.

Over one million people in 170 cities across the world took part in the run last year. The event first started in 2011 in the United States.
