SINGAPORE - Nightclubs in Clarke Quay are calling for rules on liquor licensing hours to be reviewed in the wake of mandopop club Shanghai Dolly's announced closure, with some saying that their own business has suffered.

The decade-old operator, which will shut after Saturday (April 14), had attributed its business woes to curtailed liquor hours in the area, implemented in 2013 after reports of drunken fights and two separate instances of intoxicated patrons drowning after they fell into the Singapore River.
