SINGAPORE - Two women were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for minor injuries on Wednesday (June 14) after an accident on the PIE, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force. Both women were conscious.

The SCDF was alerted to the accident near Stevens Road exit towards Changi Airport around 4.10pm and dispatched one ambulance.

The police were also alerted to the accident involving five cars and one van.

Citizen journalism website Stomp reported that the chain collision caused a massive jam on the highway, and that traffic was slow because only the leftmost lane was open.

Drivers were advised by LTA to avoid lanes 1 and 2 because of the accident, which caused congestion extending for about 4km on the expressway.
