SINGAPORE - A cement mixer truck was turning into Sheares Avenue on Sunday afternoon (Feb 4), when its cement drum came loose and rolled onto the road.

The police said they were alerted to the accident at around 12.40pm.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force, which was alerted at about the same time, said that its assistance was not required as no one was injured.

Photos posted on traffic-related news Telegram channel SG No.1 All in 1 Sharing / Updates showed a slight dent and some scratches on the cement drum.

The Straits Times understands that some of the cement mixture had spilled onto the road, and three out of four lanes on Sheares Avenue had to be closed in the afternoon.

Traffic Police were on site to manage traffic, as works were carried out to clean up the area.

Police investigations are ongoing.
