Catch this year's National Day Parade - in Lego size

If you would like a preview of this year's National Day Parade (NDP), complete with a stage, marching contingents and 25,000 spectators, drop by Nanyang Polytechnic on July 30 - and catch it in Lego miniature.

This volleyball court-size replica of the Marina Bay Floating Platform was formed in three weeks under Building a LovingSG, a fund-raising initiative part of this year's National Day celebrations. Members of the public bought customised Lego figures to be placed as 'spectators' in the crowd.

The initiative, which ended on Sunday, aimed to raise $200,000 for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, which helps children from low-income families with their schooling expenses.

Last Saturday, real estate firm PropNex Realty donated $60,000 to the fund. The replica will be on display at the polytechnic from July 30 to Aug 3, and at the Singapore Flyer from Aug 4 to end-August.
