A car slid down the slope at the carpark of Marymount Convent School yesterday morning, crashing into the school fence along Marymount Road.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the incident at 7.05am. An ambulance and a fire engine were sent to the scene.

The 38-year-old female driver was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hos- pital. SCDF said that she had soreness in her right shoulder and right wrist. No one else was injured.

Four tow trucks - two at the top of the slope and two at the bottom - were deployed to remove the silver Volkswagen. The car was towed up the slope at about 10am, as several passers-by looked on.

Skid marks could be seen on the grass slope.

When contacted yesterday, the school said that the driver is a member of the staff.

The school had just returned to its Marymount Road premises this year, after two years of upgrading works.

It was previously housed at a holding site in Toa Payoh Lorong 1.
