SINGAPORE – A 23-year-old female car passenger died in hospital after an accident involving a car and a bus in Yishun early on Aug 2.

The police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the accident, which occurred at the junction of Yishun Avenue 2 and Yishun Central 1, at about 5.35am that day.

The woman was unconscious when taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where she later died.

A 47-year-old male car driver and a 20-year-old female passenger were conscious when taken to the same hospital.

In response to queries from The Straits Times, a Tower Transit spokesman said the bus had been stationary and waiting at the traffic lights when the accident happened. He added that there were no passengers on board at the time.
