Car driver flees scene after accident with trailer on AYE

In videos that circulated on social media, a white bumper can be seen on the road just behind a stationary trailer which appears to be transporting a large construction machine. A white car with a mangled front portion is further ahead.

The police said they were alerted to the accident at about 3.25am.

SINGAPORE – A car driver fled the scene after the vehicle was involved in an accident with a trailer on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) in the early hours of Aug 31.

In response to queries, the police said they were alerted to the accident along the AYE towards Tuas at about 3.25am.

“The car driver had left the scene before (officers) arrived and no injuries were reported,” they added.

In videos of the aftermath of the accident that circulated on social media, a white vehicle bumper can be seen on the road just behind a stationary trailer, which appears to be transporting a large construction machine.

Slightly ahead of the trailer is a stationary white car, facing against the direction of traffic. Its front appears completely mangled.

Police investigations are ongoing.
